Are You Allowed To Take Pictures Inside A Casino

Since many casinos work with different and/or multiple software companies, you’re likely to find a different selection of casino games at every casino you join. This will also affect game rules, payouts, and odds – but on a much lower scale. In some casinos, you will not only be prohibited from taking photos, but you will not be allowed to take any of your gadgets with you, including your tablet or smartphone. As Las Vegas casinos began to reopen on Thursday as per Nevada guidelines, customers returned in droves, but despite new health and safety regulations some venues struggled to maintain.

The answer is probably different depending on the game. But nonetheless I'd like to know.
I've been having thoughts about taking pictures of video poker pay tables for a long time but do not have the courage to do so, and don't have the courage to ask either (mainly due to, who else would care? not a ploppy that's for sure, since you asked you must be AP, we're gonna keep an eye on your blackjack activity now)
Recently I've been trying to investigate some of the slot machines that interest me with their progressive payouts. If the progressives are high enough, it would be AP to play those machines.
For whatever reason, some of the machines there blatantly advertise their status. There's like an icon floating on the screen saying 'touch here for game stats', and it includes very important data like win amount, and win distribution, last minor/major jackpot amount and time hit, etc. Though it does not include the house edge and standard deviation, (An AP only cares about those) I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for a skilled mathematician to figured it out based on the data.
Now I just wonder if I can collect the data. Would I get in trouble if I took pictures? I clearly don't see any 'no pictures' sign nor anyone even mentioning anything about pictures.
And what about other games? like blackjack and poker, are you allowed to take pictures there?

This, just do it and assume it is fine until someone tells you otherwise. Too many people, including the casinos, take winning screenshots to assume it is against the rules unless it is clearly disclosed.

I guess it depends on the casino.
I've taken more pictures of the Loose Deuces VP at the Ditz than I can count, both with a cell and a camera. Once in full view of an attendant, and another in view of a floor person. No one ever said a word to me about it. I also recall a sign at the 4Q saying photos are ok as long as you don't bother anyone.
I'm sure few casinos would object to photos of a paytable. But if you're not comfrotable taking them, you can always write them down on paper.

The dumb security guard will not be as understanding as a suit. One retired gentlemen was parked at the M Resort with his tripod mounted camera clearly aimed at the cloud formations but a security guard roared at him because of the offices he was overlooking.
